Twig Pens & Postcards began as an act of love in mid 2024. It remains a way to uplift with God's words, teleport with nature, and embrace loved ones through the timeless tradition of handwritten notes and snail mail.
This series derives its name from my process. Briefly, I use twig pens (made from fallen branches) and chinese ink to sketch inspiring landscapes on postcard-sized paper. I follow this with a wash of natural watercolour, and finish with colour pencils to add texture, judiciously.
I started with mesmerising scenes of coastal Cornwall in Britain. My wanderings soon grew to include shores, lighthouses, churches, and quaint cottages, all in rural settings. The collection now also includes wildlife too (posting soon). I hope you’ll enjoy them 👋🏼.
